WISE International Schools Swimming Gala
The 36th WISE International Schools Swimming Gala will be held in the National Aquatic Centre on the 9-10 March 2007.The event is held annually between Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England.
Teams are selected in each country after regional qualifying and final national final competitions. Each team comprises of no more than 40 swimmers in total at junior, intermediate and senior levels.
This year, for the first time, the competition is long course and will have two swimmers from each country, with the first swimmer from each country to touch first, will score. Also for the first time, there will be open 200m races in backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle.
There are no individual medals but overall prizes. Each team selects who should win this prize and an award is made to the best boy and best girl at the gala dinner.
