Three Irish boxers will compete in Thursday's semi-finals at the 1st AIBA Women's World Youth and Junior Championships following a brace of quarter-final wins in Antalya, Turkey today.

European Youth silver medalist Katie Rowland and Austeja Accueita booked their ticket into the last four. The duo join Belfast featherweight Michaela Walsh - who advanced to the World Youth semi-finals on Tuesday - in the last four. All three are guaranteed at least a bronze medal each.

Rowland, who boxes out of the Geesala BC in Mayo, beat Thi Yen Nguyen of Vietnam 16-13 in today's World Youth flyweight last eight clash. That victory arrived just a few hours after Accueita, of the Finn Valley BC in Donegal, beat Marthamma Sattivada of India 14-8 in the World Junior lightweight quarter-final.

Ireland's Christine Gargan, Oliwia Samsonow, Shannon Power and Nicole Meli were also involved in quarter-final action today but despite brave performances lost out one bout from the medals stages in Antalya.
