The Irish Sports Council Wishes All Athletes Competing At The 2014 European Athletics Championships The Best Of Luck

The very best of luck to the Irish team competing in the European Athletics Championships in Zurich, Switzerland. The championships will be held in Letzigrund Stadium commencing tomorrow and continues until August 17th. Reigning 50k World Walks Champion Robert Heffernan will lead the Irish team of 28, this is one of the largest teams ever to compete at the championships.

Eleven Irish Records have been set at the European Championships in the last ten years including team captain Robert Heffernan setting a new 50k Irish Record of 3:45.30 in Barcelona in 2010. We wish the Irish Team the very best luck.
