Tennis: Stunning win for Sorenson in Australia Open

Ireland's Louk Sorensen became the first Irish tennis player, since Matt Doyle in 1985, to win a Grand Slam match following a stunning victory over Taiwan's Yen-Hsun Lu in Melbourne on the second day of the tournament.

Louk, who came through the qualifiers last week, won in four sets 6-4, 3-6,6-2, 6-1 against a player ranked more than 180 places higher than him in the ATP rankings.

Louk, a current Irish Davis Cup player, and son of former Irish tennis star Sean, will meet the 33rd seed John Isner of the US in the 2nd round. Isner, a recent winner of the New Zealand Open, came through in 5 sets against Andreas Seppi of Italy in the first round..
