TENNIS Davis Cup- Ireland defeat Morocco
Ireland came from behind to defeat Morocco three matches to two in the Europe/Africa Zone Group 2 Davis Cup tie in Fitzwilliam LTC in Dublin over last weekend.
Louk Sorenson gave Ireland the perfect start with three sets to one victory against M El Aare in the opening singles. Unfortunately, Conor Niland could not build on this as he went down in straight sets to former World No 14 Younes El Aynoui.
Saturday's doubles went to Morocco with a thrilling win in five sets for R Chaki/R El Arani against James Cluskey and Colin O' Brien.
Morocco were favourites going into Sunday's reverse singles. However, Louk Sorenson levelled the tie with a great win against El Aynoui in four sets. The tie was decided in Ireland's favour when Conor Niland came from two sets to one down to win in five sets against El Aare.
