Sport Ireland send good luck message to the Irish hockey team ahead of Women’s World Cup Semi-Final

Chief Executive of Sport Ireland, John Treacy, today sent a good luck message to the Ireland team who have continued their history-making run by beating India in a penalty shootout to secure their place in the World Cup semi-finals.

John Treacy Chief Executive Sport Ireland commented “I want to wish the Irish hockey team the very best of luck ahead of their semi-final meeting with Spain on Saturday. The players have demonstrated the skill and physical and mental attributes required to compete at the highest level and we are all incredibly proud of the players and their support staff. It has been brilliant to see the team continue to impress on the international stage. I am delighted to send my best wishes to Graham Shaw and all the players ahead of their semi-final tomorrow”.
