Sixth Consecutive European Championship Title for Katie Taylor

The Irish Sports Council congratulates Katie Taylor on her gold winning performance at the European Boxing Championship in Bucharest, Romania. Katie Taylor beat French boxer, Estelle Mossely over four dominant rounds to earn an unprecedented sixth successive European title. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to Katie's skill and talent as she holds all the major titles at European, World and Olympic level. Congratulations too, are also due to Clare Grace on winning a bronze medal for Ireland; Clare is the second ever Irish woman after Katie Taylor to secure a senior boxing medal at the European Championships.
