Showjumping: Irish Team named for European Showjumping Championships in Mannheim

The European Show Jumping Championships start in Mannheim, Germany today and will continue until next Sunday. This is the final opportunity for the Irish team to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games. Ireland must finish in the top three of those nations not already qualified to secure a place for Beijing.

The Championships open today with the speed class, which is the first leg of both the team and individual competitions. Ireland will be jumping 8th of the 18 teams.
