Seven Championship Best Performance Set at the GloHealth Juvenile Relay Championships
The GloHealth Relay Championships of Ireland provided an exciting day's competition with the very best club relay teams battling it out for the national titles on Saturday, 5th of July. There were seven new championship best performances set on an exhilarating day of competition in Tullamore Harriers Stadium.
Menapians AC stormed to victory in the U16 boy's 4x100m setting a new championship best performance (CBP) of 44.92. The closest race of the day came in the U18 boy's 4x100m when Kilkenny City Harriers won the title in a time of 44.03 (CBP). The time was just .01 of second ahead of second place team Bandon AC (44.04)
Tallaght AC won a very exciting boy's U18 4x400m in a time of 3.31.86 with Dundrum South Dublin team winning the girl's 4x400m in a time of 4.17.15
In the youngest age groups Dublin club Blackrock AC dominated the girl's U12 and U13 age group. The Blackrock U12 girls' team won the title in a new championships best performance (CBP) of 55.77. The U13's did likewise winning the title in a new CBP of 53.28.
SLOT dominated the girl's U14 race setting a new CBP of 51.41 with Cork club Leevale AC winning the boy's equivalent in a time of 50.18 (CBP). Emerald AC girl's teams had a clean sweep in the U15, U16 and U17 age groups winning all three national titles.
Tir Chonaill AC won the U19 girl's 4x100m race in a new CBP of 49.03 with Galway City Harriers winning the girl's 4x400m title in a time of 4.12.30.
Day two of the GloHealth Juvenile Championships take place next Sunday, 13th of July in Tullamore Harriers Stadium.
