Scotland take u15 Quad Title

04 May 2013

Despite a fighting display by a young English side, Scotland retained the U-15 Quadrangular title in Baldoyle.

Earlier wins for both sides against Wales and Ireland meant that the late afternoon match between Scotland and England would decide the title.

With three doubles wins to England and two to Scotland, it all came down to the singles and victories for Alex Dunn, Matthew Duguid and Holly Newall were enough to ensure that the title went back to Scotland for another year.

Ireland finished a fighting third, beating Wales 6-3 in their final match. Earlier in the day, the Irish had been unlucky to lose a couple of three setters in their match against the English. Against Scotland, Matthew Lightbody and Moya Ryan pulled off a notable victory in the mixed doubles after dropping the middle set.
