ROWING Queens University Belfast take Eights and Quads at Queens Regatta, Castlewellan

St. Michael's, Limerick win double scull and pair and Dukarska, Killorglin RC wins women's single scull

Fair weather and light winds were the perfect conditions which saw Queen's University Belfast take the eight and quads in the men's top division at Saturday's Queen's regatta in the picturesque setting of Castlewellan Forrest Park lake in Co Down, in the second regatta of Rowing Ireland's new Grand League series.

In the men's top division the eight and quads were won by Queens University Belfast, Galway RC won the fours, St Michaels RC from Limerick took the double scull and pair and City of Derry BC took the single sculls. UCD were placed first and third respectively in the novice eights.

In the women's top division the eights race was won by the juniors from Portora School, Enniskillen, the fours by UCD with City of Derry showing strong form again in the double sculls. Neptune from Dublin won the pairs and after a long trip up from Killorglin, Monika Dukarska took the single sculls race.
