Prof. Valter Magini elected FIPM President

The Italian Federation of Modern Pentathlon elected Professor Valter Magini to be their new President after the 66-year-old took 77.17 % of the votes.

He stated, “I agreed to stand for the federal presidency because I thought it right to do so and I feel I will be able to give new life to this historic and prestigious federation.”

Valter Magini was born in Rome July 15, 1947 and graduated in Physical Education and Sports at the National University of Athens. He is currently an associate professor and director of sport at the University of Rome "Foro Italico". He was awarded the Golden Star for sporting merit by the Olympic Committee in 2002 and before that served as sports director of the Italian Modern Pentathlon Federation at the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000.

During his career, he held several positions at the international level, including the vice-presidency of the European Confederation of Modern Pentathlon.
