Pritchard Announces Panel For Welsh Series

22 Aug 2012

Interim women's coach Denis Pritchard has announced a panel of 25 players to compete in a 3 match series taking place this coming weekend against Wales as Ireland continue preparations for the FIH Champions Challenge I taking place in Dublin from September 29th to October 7th.

Pritchard is giving the chance to a number of younger players to shine as a few of the more established players are unavailable for selection. "This event will give a good indication of how the younger players will be able to perform over a series of senior games. We will use these matches to experiment with new combinations , which we can then build on going into the Scotland series in early September. This group has exciting prospects and includes a healthy mix of experience and enthusiasm. "

Ireland will host Wales for a three day period starting this Friday 24th at 7.30pm with two further matches one on Saturday at 2.30 and one on Sunday at 12pm. Ireland will then continue with match practise against Scotland away on from the 7th - 9th September before the tournament starts on September 29th in Dublin (match schedule tbc).
