Optimist European Sailing Championships Dun Laoghaire

The largest international sailing event on the domestic calendar; the Optimist European Sailing Championship will take place from the 12th - 19th of July in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. A team of 14 Irish sailors will be among the 33 nations competing for the European titles but a total of 254 competitors will represent 44 countries in the Open Championships from as far afield as Argentina, Bermuda, India, Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand. The Qualifying Series will take place from Monday until Wednesday and the Final Series will then take place from Thursday until Saturday. The sailors will be competing on Dublin Bay in the Boy's Optimist European Championship, the Boy's Optimist Open Championship, The Girl's Optimist European Championship and the Girl's Optimist Open Championship.
