Magee and Evans make Irish Open final

Top seeds Scott Evans and Chloe Magee are both through to tomorrow's (Sun) singles finals at the Carlton Irish Open in Baldoyle.

In his semi-final, Evans had to fight for every point in his match against French player Lucas Claerbout of France before finally coming through 21-17,21-18. He players another French player Lucan Corvee.

Magee had an even tougher time in her semi-final against Beatriz Corrales of Spain, which came after a gruelling mixed doubles final earlier in the day. Magee won the opening set easily enough, but the Spaniard fought back and levelled the match at 23-21 in the second, saving three match points. Magee then wrapped up the match in the third to reach her first Irish Open singles final . She faces Line Kjaersfeldt of Denmark in the final.
