Key Dates and Final Venues Announced for Irish Hockey League

The Irish Hockey League Finals weekend will take place at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club. The finals which take place on the 5th & 6th of May 2012 will be held this year in conjunction with the Wildcards (subject to no clash in participating teams), providing a double feast of hockey over the May Bank Holiday.

Chair of Competitions, Inez Cooper said "We are delighted to return to Lisnagarvey again this year as the venue has two water based pitches and therefore able to facilitate the two IHL deciding competitions side by side. With the IHA Cup Finals Weekend the following weekend in Dublin, it means we can spread the exposure of the two premier IHA senior club competitions to a large number of supporters and spectators. Lisnagarvey were fantastic hosts last year and we are delighted to be able to work with their team of volunteers again this year"

The IHL working group also announced the date for the IHL Forum which will coincide with the Men's FIH Olympic Qualifying Tournament taking place in Dublin, facilitating the hockey community with a chance to attend this important forum and support Ireland's men at the same time. The IHL Forum will discuss the future direction of the IHL and present various options and formats for the competition prior to any recommendation being made for a change.
