Junior Academy Launched

Triathlon Ireland launches
Junior Academy for 2014 season

Triathlon Ireland is delighted to announce the launch of the Junior Academy
which will start with its first training day in February 2014. With a huge
growth in the number of juniors wanting to take part in triathlon, duathlon and aquathlon the Junior Academy
will provide an avenue along with clubs for these young athletes to train and
develop their skills.

The number of clubs now catering for junior athletes is growing all the time
and the academy will work in tandem with this, further developing junior club
athletes, bringing new people into the sport and directing athletes keen for
more back into local clubs. The Junior Academy will also assist with
continually raising the standard and providing a pathway for those who wish to
move up through the ranks and potentially onto the National Junior Squad should
they wish.

About the Junior Academy

The Junior Academy caters for 10 to 19 year olds offering coached training
days and ongoing support and mentoring. The initial training days are open to all
levels from those seeking their first taste of triathlon or duathlon to the more
experienced athlete wishing to make the step up to the National Junior Squad.
