Irish Riders in Global Champions Tour Action at Cannes

Cannes in the south of France sees Irish riders in five-star action in the fifth leg of the 2012 Global Champions' Tour this weekend, with Billy Twomey and Denis Lynch lining out with Mark McAuley on Saturday night for the Grand Prix.


Joanne Sloan-Allen will also take part in the one-star classes at Cannes.


In Canada, Darragh Kerins and Richie Moloney continue the Irish campaign at the four-star Spruce Meadows show, where Kerins last week took third place in the Grand Prix.


Peter Smyth and Marion Hughes fly the Irish flag at Comporta in Portugal, while other Irish riders compete at two-star venues at Drammen in Norway, Metz, France, San Remo, Italy, and Hoofdorp in the Netherlands.


Friday sees Irish competitors taking part in the Children on Horses Nations' Cup in Hagen Germany, followed on the same day by the Pony Nations Cup and the Junior Nations Cup.


In Eventing, Elizabeth Power is the sole Irish rider at Nunney in Great Britain, with Sarah Ennis also the only Irish representative at Balcarres House Horse Trials in Scotland.
