Irish Riders Compete in Europe and North America this weekend

Three Irish riders will compete at Canada's big five-star show at Spruce Meadows this weekend, where the 200,000 dollar Grand Prix takes place on Saturday.


Jennifer Crooks, Darragh Kerins and Richie Moloney will all wear the tricolour at the Rocky Mountain venue.


At Vimeiro in Portugal, meanwhile, an in-form group of Irish riders that includes Peter Smyth, Marion Hughes, Andrew Bourns, Edward Doyle, Paddy O'Donnell and Joanne Sloan-Allen take part in the weekend programme of jumping, that culminates with the three-star Grand prix on Sunday.


Trevor Coyle, Dermott Lennon, Conor Swail and Christine Swail all take part in the French three-star show at Lons le Saunier, while Belgium's three-star event at Aalst has Jessica Kurten as the sole Irish representative.


In Eventing, Mark Kyle, Patricia Ryan and Pip Peters compete at England's three-star Bramham over the weekend, while Niall Griffin takes part in all three classes at Renswoude in the Netherlands.


Wierden in the Netherlands sees a big turn-out of Irish competitors in the Pony, Junior and Young Rider categories, with the Pony and Junior Nations' Cups taking place later today (Thursday).
