IRISH JUNIOR TEAM IN SECOND PLACE AT EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN FRANCE

Irish Junior Eventing team in 2nd at European Championships in France

The Gain Horse feeds Irish Junior(U18) eventing team are lying in 2nd place after the today's Cross Country phase of European Championships in Jardy in France.

The team were lying in Bronze medal position after dressage but brilliant clears from Cathal Daniels, Elizabeth Hayden and Harold Magahey moved them into the team silver medal position with tomorrow's show jumping phase still to come.

Elizabeth Hayden and her Irish Sport Horse Miracle are also lying 3rd individually overnight.

Ireland's 4th team rider Josh Pim had an unfortunate fall on the Cross Country Course but he and his horse were reported to be fine afterwards.

Irish individual rider Susie Berry put in an outstanding clear round and lies in 8th place in the individual competition. Ireland's other individual Maria Byrne did not compete today as her horse had picked up a minor knock.

Harold Magahey and Cathal Daniels are also lying 9th and 10th individually.

The Irish team is managed by Debbie Byrne with dressage coach Terry Boon, Show Jumping Coach Ian Fearon and Team Vet Will Lalor.
