The Irish team put in a great showing at the Ironman World Championships
with David Condon posting the fastest finishing time in 9:13:41.

Matt Molloy got off to a great starting thanks to a 53 minute swim which put
in 2nd in his age group during the early part of the race. David Condon then
smashed the 180k bike leg in 4:51 while Ivan O'Gorman dipped under 3 hours for
the marathon.

Unfortunately Niall Somers got food poisoning before the
race resulting in a DNF.

The men's race was won by Frederik Van Lierdein 8:12:29
while the women's race was won by Mirinda Carfrae in 8:52:14.
