Irish Diver MacManus 6th in Euro Final

Ireland's Natasha MacManus has finished 6th in the final of the Platform Diving Competition at the European Junior Diving Championships in Poznan, Poland today.

MacManus, who is the first Irish person ever to final at the European Junior Diving Championships, finished 9th in the preliminary round of dives this morning following 7 dives from 5m, 7m and 10m Platforms. The top 12 divers went through to the final this afternoon.

The 16 year old Dubliner who trains with Plymouth Diving Club in the UK then put in a fantastic performance over 3 dives in the final to finish 6th overall just 10.65 points off the Bronze medal spot with a total of 295.55 points.

Russia's Julia Timoshinina was the overall winner on 372.70 points.

MacManus still has the 1 metre (Friday) and 3 Metre (Sunday) Springboard Dives to go.
