Ireland's First Paralympic Games Competitor Returns Solid Score

Eilish Byrne from Co. Louth, Ireland's first competitor at the 2012 Paralympic Games in any sport, returned a solid score in para equestrian dressage at 9.08 this morning.


Byrne, riding her horse Youri, achieved a mark of 67.15 per cent at the equestrian centre in Greenwich Park.


The remaining three Paralympic dressage riders James Dwyer, Helen Kearney and Gerry Savage all compete on Friday. They comprise Ireland's first ever Para Equestrian team to qualify for the Paralympics.
