Ireland Under 19 Squad Named For Scotland Tour
Ireland have made three changes to their Under 19 squad which will play Celtic rivals Scotland in the decisive ICC Europe Challenge Series in Ayr next week.
Civil Service North all-rounder Mark Adair returns having missed the series win against The Netherlands due to playing commitments with Warwickshire Seconds.
Aaron Gillespie is fit again following a hand injury, while exciting leg-spinner Ru Jones also included in the 13 man squad.
"We played some high quality cricket last week after a slow start," said Ireland coach Ryan Eagleson. "We showed great maturity and held our nerve in a tricky run chase to win the second game chasing 240, while we played our best cricket of the series to win the T20 match comfortably thanks to a terrific innings by Peter Eakin.
"It's always a hard fought contest when we play Scotland, and I expect the series next week to be no different. It'll be tough, but if the squad play to their potential, there's no reason why we can't come away with a win."
The teams will play two 50 over clashes before the series culminates in a T20 contest, all taking place at Ayr from Tuesday July 29 to Thursday July 31 (11am).
In the league standings, Ireland and The Netherlands have two wins apiece, with Scotland yet to win a game after two of their three matches in Holland were washed out. A clean sweep for Scotland would still be enough for them to clinch the title.
