Ireland to Travel to the White Knights 2012 Challenge Event

With Olympic Qualification phase complete it is time for the Irish to travel to the White Knights 2012 Challenge event. The last few months the players have been undertaking tough training regimes in the lead up to the Olympic Games. The players are now moving towards a focus on match preparation, perfect timing for the Russia pre-Olympic tournament.


The Irish representatives will be involved in four out of the five disciplines at the event. Scott Evans and Chloe Magee who have qualified for the London Games in singles have both been seeded in this event. Sam Magee and Chloe are also seeded in the mixed event and will hope to keep their good form, which took them to number one on the European Circuit rankings this year. Sam will also partner Scott as they fly the flag for Ireland in the Men's Doubles Event.


As the players are seeded in the Singles and mixed event's they will have a bye in the opening round and will have to wait to see who their opening opponents will be. In the Men's Doubles Evans and Magee will face the Russian duo of Vasily Belevantsev & Maxim Popinov in their opening round. The Irish will be hoping to end the Russian's home campaign on their quest for the Championship's.
