Ireland Go Down 2-3 To South Africa
Galway lawn tennis club was the venue for the 2nd international match ahead of the commonwealth games. South Africa proved too much for the Irish team beating them 3-2. It was another full house hoping to see Ireland repeat the victory over Canada the previous night in Dublin, but were sadly unable to secure a victory.
In the absence of Scott Evans who is preparing for the World Championships, Joshua Magee was first in the men's singles. Magee fought but ultimately lost in 2 sets. In the women's singles Jennie King was on court in place of Irish regular Chloe Magee. Jennie started strong but was unable to secure victory losing in the two sets.
The first 3 set game of the day came from newly formed doubles teams Sam and Joshua Magee. The brothers where victorious over Canada the night before but sadly unable to beat the South African pairing.
Chloe and Jennie paired for the woman's doubles to take on South Africa and provide the Irish with their first win, beating the pair in 2 sets.
