Ireland 0-3 Belgium (hockey)

Ireland lost 3-0 to Belgium in the third of their five training games in Valencia as they continue to build towards the FIH Electric Ireland Road to London which takes place in Dublin from 10th-18th March. Belgium opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a reverse stick shot to the top left corner.

The Belgians took a 2 nil lead in the 39th minute when Tom Boon scored from a penalty corner drag flick. Boon made it 3-0 in the 41st minute with a penalty stroke after the ball was illegally stopped with a foot on the line.

Ireland return to the training tomorrow and Saturday before they face Belgium again on Sunday 12th (3pm Irish Time) and their final game on Monday 13th (11am Irish Time) v Spain.
