Hockey: Ireland Draw 1-1 with Scotland
The first of the three match series saw the two sides split the spoils in what could have been a higher scoring game had it not been for Davis and Cochrane in-between the posts at either end. The Green Army got off to the ideal start as Duke produced a superb reverse shot in the second minute to give Ireland a 1-0 lead. The chances didn't stop there as drag flicks by Frazer and Mullan were saved as the clock ticked towards half time. But in the 32nd minute Becky Merchant drew Scotland level thanks to a low cross deflected goal-bound. HT 1-1
Gemma Frazer, earning her 1st senior cap for the Green Army, showed polished skills as she earned yet another PC for her team, minutes after Carroll had also won a PC. Another goal never materialised for either team and Davis made several good saves from Merchants strikes.
Squad: M Frazer (Captain), Sargent, Evans, Mullan, Davis (GK), Lloyd, O'Carroll, O'Byrne, Pinder, Beatty, Meeke, Matthews, Duke, McDonald, Brown, G Frazer, Smithwick, McCay.
