Hockey Ireland 8-0 France

Ireland beat France 8-0 today in the 2nd of 4 three nations series taking place over a 11 day period in UCD as build up towards the Olympic Qualifier, World League 2 continues, in a match that they completely dominated.

Ireland dominated the first half of this match with such conviction that no touch was even required from Irish Keeper Ayeisha McFerran. Ireland opened their account in the 4th minute thanks to Captain Megan Frazer who had a free in & weaved through thumping home to make it 1-0. Just five minutes later Ireland doubled their lead Naomi Carroll capitalising on a Gillian Pinder pass to smash home making it 2-0.

Next on the score sheet Katie Mullan volleyed home from a bouncy pass with accuracy to make it 3-0 before two further goals added to the first half tally through drag flick set pieces, Chloe Brown and Audrey O'Flynn both making their presence felt.

Half Time: Ireland 5-0 France

Ireland started the second half with the same attacking intent Aine Connery immediately testing the French defence but it was Chloe Brown who did the honours in the 41st minute making it 6-0 after roofing a dragflick. Just four minutes later Ireland perfected a text book move Nikki Evans passing across the back line to the penalty spot for Katie Mullan to slot home making it lucky number 7 for the Irish.

Ireland put the final nail in the coffin in the 56th minute when Naomi Carroll laid off to Aine Connery who slid home full stretch to knock it home and make it 8-0 in a match that was dominated by the Green Army.
Ireland will play again tomorrow 7pm against Spain as this test series continues.
