FIH Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament Schedule Confirmed
The FIH Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament schedule has today been confirmed by the FIH. Ireland who will face Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Chile and Ukraine will host this tournament from the 10th - 18th March 2012 at the National Hockey Stadium in UCD, Dublin.
The men recently moved up two spots in the world rankings from 18th position to 16th after some key successes over the summer, something which High Performance Director Dave Passmore was keen to recognise "this progress reflects the hard work the team and coaching staff have put in over a number of years but the recent progress has been the most substantial and it's an exciting time for the men's team. This tournament takes the form of a round robin pool where each team plays against each other followed by the top two teams playing off on Sunday 18th March for a spot at the London Olympic Games 2012.
