Evans In To Last 16 At World Championships
Irish number one Scott Evans has booked his place in the last 16 of the 2014 World Championships after beating David Obernosterer of Austria in straight games.
Evans has continued his good form after winning the Brazil Grand Prix event as he eased through the opening game 21-7.
Evans started the second game a little slower and fell 18-10 down. At this point of the game Evans regained form and took 11 consecutive points to take the game and match with a 21-18 score line.
In the next round tomorrow (Thursday) Evans will play the winner of number one seed World number one Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia or Dieter Domke of Germany who Evans beat in the final in Brazil.
