European Amateur Snooker Championships
The European Amateur Snooker Championships will be held in Carlow from June 5th to June 16th. The event will take place in a number of venues- Ivy Rooms (12 Tables) and Talbot Hotel (4 tables). The Dinn Ri Hotel will host the semi-finals and finals.
The Championships get underway on the 5th June commencing with the opening ceremony. Prior to this there will be a pro am on 2nd/3rd June followed by the European Open event on 4th/5th in which all continental European players compete for a place on the professional main tour.
The main championships will then run in group stages until Tuesday 12th. The knockout stages in each of the men’s, masters and ladies events will be then played off. The final of both the masters and ladies is scheduled for the 15th with the men’s final on the 16th followed by the closing ceremony. The first ever European Billiards Open will also be held during the last few days of the championships.
Ireland will have eight players in the men’s and four in both the masters and ladies. All eight of the men’s players should have a great chance of winning the title and with a main tour place up for grabs, there will be more at stake than ever.
