Co Mayo's Cameron Hanley continued his recent good run of form, with a runner-up finish in Sunday's three-star Grand Prix at Donaueschingen in Germany. Hanley and the nine-year-old gelding Cas 2 produced one of five double clear rounds and finished just under two seconds behind Dutch winner Lisa Nooren with VDL Groep Sabech d'Ha. A second Mayo rider, Alex Duffy, finished in ninth place with the Irish Sport Horse WCE Cruco.

At the five-star Austrian show in Vienna, Wexford's Bertram Allen recorded a fourth place finish in the Vienna Masters riding Izzy By Picobello, while Tipperary's Denis Lynch finished in eighth place with Campino. Victory went to Harrie Smolders from The Netherlands with Don VHP Z.

Meanwhile across the Atlantic, two Irish riders finished in the top 10 in Sunday night's $216,000 Longines World Cup class at the four-star show in North Salem, New York. Conor Swail took ninth place with Grafton, one place ahead of Shane Sweetnam riding Chaqui Z. American  World No. 2 Kent Farrington lifted the winners trophy aboard Gazelle.
