DEAF SPORTS Irish Swimming Team for European Deaf Swimming Championships

Deirdre Byrne-Dunne, Swimming Director for Irish Deaf Sports Association (IDSA) is delighted to announce that Nora Duggan (St. Paul’s Swimming Club), Eoin Nolan (Aer Lingus Swimming Club) and Vincent McArdle (UCD Swimming Club) are selected to swim for Ireland in the forthcoming European Deaf Swimming Championships in Dortmund, Germany on 20th-26th June 2010.

The three Irish swimmers, Nora (Kerry), Eoin (Wexford) and Vincent (Dublin) swam in the Irish Open Long Course Championships 2010 recently in National Aquatic Centre on April 29th – May 2nd and qualified in the Irish deaf swimming times for the European Deaf Swimming Championships.  We, the IDSA executive committee would like to congratulate the above swimmers and wish them all the best.

Alan Turner, Irish Deaf Swimming Coach will be on the Irish Deaf Swimming team and thanks to Aer Lingus Swimming Club for allowing him to take time off from his coaching job there to join us, the Irish Deaf Swimming Team to Germany.
