Cricket Ireland completes 2 Nil ODI Series win against the Netherlands

Ireland's Men completed a 2 Nil ODI Series win against the Netherlands in Clontarf yesterday with a 9 wickets victory.

Ireland's win cemented its place as the 10th best side in world one day cricket and was the 19th successive one day win against fellow Associate teams.

It was a wonderful team effort with significant contibutions from bowlers Skipper Trent Johnston, Nigel Jones and John Mooney, with 2 wickets each, as the Netherland's were bowled out for 125 in 47.2 overs.

Ireland surpassed the Netherland's total in the 21st over. The innings was spearheaded by Paul Stirling scoring 62 from 36 balls, including 5 sixes in seven deliveries. He was ably supported by Gary Wilson, who followed his maiden ODI century in the first game, with a solid 48 from 53 balls

Ireland now embarks on a tour to Canada where it will play 3 ODIs and an Intercontinental Cup game against the host nation.
