Cricket - Beggs takes five wickets as Ireland beat Zimbabwe
Half centuries from skipper Laura Delany and Shauna Kavanagh, backed up by Aoife Beggs' five-wicket haul saw Ireland Women finish the Quadrangular Series on a high note as they beat Zimabwe by 19 runs to clinch third place.
Delany top scored with 81 from 86 balls, sharing a 4th wicket stand of 130 in 145 balls with Shauna Kavanagh (67) - both making their highest scores for the Girls In Green.
The pair each hit 10 boundaries as Ireland posted 254 for 5, with Gaby Lewis (33), Mary Waldron (21) and Jenny Gray (17*) all chiipping in.
Zimbabwe's run chase looked well placed with Chipo Mugeri (57) and Modester Mupachinka (54) sharing a second wicket stand of 115, but the introduction of Beggs turned the contest around.
The YMCA seamer took 5 for 52 as Zimbabwe went from 150 for 2 to 235 all out, with Gaby Lewis also taking 2 for 46.
Beggs efforts saw her pip Delany for the Player-of-the-Match accolade as Aaron Hamilton's young side claim a fully-deserved 19-run victory.
