Craig Breen Rallying: IRC Rally Scotland - End of Day Two - Saturday Update

08 Oct 2011

Irish Rally driver Craig Breen has rounded off a very tough day two of IRC Scotland in an accreditable 5th place. Starting the day in fourth overall after the opening two Friday evening stages and was hoping to consolidate that position over the scheduled six special stages that made up the Saturday action.

After dropping to 7th by Midday service, Breen confessed to a slow start over the stage three opener and an overshoot on stage four. In service Craig commented, "Last night, the stage was smooth and we pushed hard, it was a stage I liked. I was probably a bit conservative this morning and we also had an overshoot on stage four. With the conditions being so treacherous we suffered because of our road position but this should level out over the second pass in the afternoon."

The weather didn't improve in the afternoon but consistent times for the Irish driver saw him climb the leader board over stages six and seven. Stage eight the final test of the day was scheduled to start at 18.52hrs but was cancelled due to poor road conditions which leaves the Irish man holding 5th going into the final day.
