15 Nov 2013

DUBLIN'S Aoife Clark leads the five Irish in the top 100 of the HSBC Eventing Riders' World Rankings published today (Thursday), jumping eight places to 11th overall.

Clark, fresh from her historic August win at Blenheim Palace with Fenya's Elegance, took the silver medal with Fernhill Adventure at the World Breeding Championships for young Eventing horses at Le Lion d'Angers last month.

She is followed in the world rankings by Joseph Murphy at No. 37.

Murphy rose by a remarkable 32 places in one month, following his eighth position with Electric Cruise at the final of the four-star event in Pau, France earlier in October.

Other Irish in the top 100 are Sarah Ennis in 78th place, Sam Watson in 80th and Michael Ryan in 96th.

The HSBC Eventing Riders' World Rankings are published by the world governing body, the FEI, and feature almost 3,500 international eventing riders.

The current leader is New Zealand's Andrew Nicholson, with Britain's William Fox-Pitt in second and Germany's Michael Jung in third.
