Britton On Form In Antrim

Double European Cross Country Champion Fionnuala Britton (Kilcoole AC) continued her unbeaten streak with a clear victory at the IAAF Cross Country Race in Antrim on Saturday the 12th of January. Britton followed up her spectacular victory at last weekend's Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country with a commanding victory in Antrim in a time of 18:17. This put Britton over ten seconds clear of Louise Damen of Great Britain who finished in second place in a time of 18:29.

Linda Byrne (Dundrum South Dublin AC) was also in the line up and she battled with Magdalyne Masai of Kenya for third podium position for the majority of the race. In the end Byrne was just run out and finished in fourth place in a time of 18.48, only three seconds behind Masai in third in 18:45.
