Britton and Byrne Take on Strong International Field in Antrim

This Saturday's 36th IAAF Antrim International Cross-Country meeting in Greenmount takes place in conjunction with the NI & Ulster Senior Cross Country Championships on Saturday, 12th of January. Double European Cross Country Champion Fionnuala Britton (Kilcoole AC) will look to defend the title she won so impressively twelve months ago. Leading the challenge will be European U23 Cross Country champion Jessica Coulson from Stockport. The British athlete finished fourth behind Britton at last weekend Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country. Both athletes will once again battle it out for the victory over the 5600m course on Saturday.

Irish team mate Linda Byrne (Dundrum South Dublin AC) has been in terrific form all season and will be a strong contender for a podium position. There is also a full programme of juvenile races on the cards beginning with the girls under 13 event at 11am. The women's senior race starts at 2.25pm.
