BOXING Taylor v Tsyplakova at Elite Final

World and European lightweight champion Katie Taylor will meet Julia Tsyplakova from the Ukraine in a special bout atFriday's Elite National Men's and inaugural Women's Senior finals at the National Stadium in Dublin.

Taylor's Irish team-mate Sinead Kavanagh meets Tsyplakova's compatriot Tetyana Ivashenko, alsoin a special bout.

Taylor, who has been invited to the White House as a guest of US President Barack Obama on St Patrick's Day, entered the Elite Women's Championships at lightweight but received a walkover after no opponent entered her60Kg category.

Tsyplakova reached theEuropean Championships featherweight final in the Ukraine - where Taylor won her fourth European title on the trot without conceding a point - last September but lost out to Sofya Ochigava of Russia.

The Elite Championships and Novice Championships conclude this weekend at the home of Irish boxing.

Tickets for the weekend's finals are priced at €30, €40 and €50. Sports fanspurchasing tickets for Friday's finals can avail of a discount for Saturday's finals.
