BOXING Homecoming Delay

The return of the Irish squad from the AIBA World Youth Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan has been delayed because of the air travel restrictions because of ash from the Icelandic volcano

The squad were expected to arrive in Dublin Airport at 1.20pm today.

However, their flight (Turkish airlines TK 1977) into Dublin has been cancelled. The Irish squad arrived in Istanbul via Turkish airlines this morning and have booked a flight to Manchester.

The squad are due to arrive in Manchester at around 4pm today.

Travel arrangements from Manchester to Dublin will be confirmed later.
