BADMINTON European Team Championships

The Irish Men’s team finished third in its group behind runaway table topers the Netherlands and 2nd place Ukraine.  After losing to Netherlands and Ukraine Ireland defeated Slovakia 3 -2 in its final fixture.

Scott Evans was Ireland’s most successful player with singles wins against Ukraine and Slovakia and doubles wins against the same opposition partnered by Matthew Gleave and Sam Magee respectively. Ireland‘s only other win was achieved by Alexander Slim in his singles game against Slovakia.

The women’s team finished 4th in its group behind Russia. Chloe Magee had a singles win against Finland and partnered by Sinead Chambers a doubles win against Belgium.
