ATTENTION – Under 21 Players!

In line with ITTA Strategy to retain players and help them make the leap from Junior to Senior Events, an Under 21 Ranking Scheme has recently been announced. There has been a change in the scheme following feedback – the Under 21 Events will NOT be mixed, and instead will be two separate events to further encourage female participation.
Depending on uptake of U21 domestic events , the High Performance Team will consider sending our best Under 21 Players (male and female) to appropriate events later in the season.
Meanwhile, to kickstart more interest in this Category and encourage participation, there will be cash prizes given out to the top male and female U21 players at the AGM Awards in June 2014. The U21 male award will receive €200, male runner up €100, with the U21 top female receiving €150 and runner up €75.
Points will be awarded at the following events, with points from players’ best four results compiled to produce the winners:
Connacht Open, 5-6 October 2013
Leinster GP, 26-27 October 2013
Ulster Open, 23 November 2013
Munster Open, 18-19 January 2014
Fermanagh Open, 1 February 2014
Irish Championships, 1-2 March 2014
The ITTA Board hopes that this increased focus on Under 21 participation will result in higher entries for events.
