AOIFE CLARK LEADS TOP INTERNATIONAL THREE DAY EVENT

Aoife Clark now leads the CCI3* class at the prestigious Blenheim International Horse Trials riding PJ Hegarty's home bred Irish Sport Horse Fenya's Elegance.

Clark who finished 7th at last years olympic Games was lying 2nd of the 84 top international competitors from 11 different countries after yesterdays'd dressage phase. However, a superb Cross Country round today moved her into the lead with tomorrow's Show Jumping phase to come.

However, today's Cross Country phase proved to be very challenging with only one of the star studded field making it home inside the time. Aoife Clark finished 10 seconds over the time to add just four penalties to her overnight score leaving her in the lead on a total of 44 penalties.

Clark holds a narrow lead of just 1.2 penalties over French rider Jean Teulere and the USA's Clark Montgomery on Irish Sport Horse Loughan Glen.
