Antrim Coaching Course Review

10 Sep 2013

Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st saw a group of 22
new coaches put through their paces by Triathlon Ireland Staff Tutors Conor
Eannetta and Eamonn Tilley.

It was a encouraging to see so many experienced
athletes turning to coaching and looking to get on the ladder. All who attended
thoroughly enjoyed themselves and took away some key lessons from the day.
Along with triathletes there were a number of GAA, Cricket and Hockey coaches
looking to gain experience and learn about the world of triathlon.

The 2 day course consisted of
some practical swim, bike and run sets and the theory focused on safety, skills
and coach development. Both days were well received by all who attended and
even the staff at Antrim Leisure centre enjoyed the day.

There was great interaction by
all of the coaches and the teams gelled well together, the end result was that
everyone went away happy knowing that they now have the confident to start
there coaching pathway in the weeks, months and years ahead.

“I would like to thank all of the
staff from Antrim Leisure Centre for all there help and support over the 2
days, not forgetting Ruth in the office for all her hard work in preparing the
material for the 2 days of coaching.” Commented Coach Tutor Eamonn Tilley.

“I would just like to wish the
entire Level 1 class of September every success in the future, push your coaching
abilities to the limits, make mistakes, learn and develop.”
