ANTI DOPING Anti-Doping Disciplinary Hearing Outcome
The Irish Rugby Football Union and the Irish Sports Council jointly announced today that the Irish Sport Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel has determined that Rowan Frost, a rugby player with Ulster, has committed an anti-doping violation.
The Panel found that, contrary to Article 2.1 of the Irish Anti-Doping Rules, the presence of a prohibited substance or its metabolite, cannabis, was found in a sample of his urine collected during in-competition testing at the Ulster –v- Leinster Celtic League match at Donnybrook on the 1st day of October, 2005.
Mr. Frost has been sanctioned, subject to his right to appeal within 14 days, by the imposition on him of a period of ineligibility of two months from 19th October, 2005. Mr. Frost was severely reprimanded and warned by the Disciplinary panel.
The hearing was held under Article 8 (Disciplinary Process) of the Irish Anti-Doping Rules and this announcement is made pursuant to Article 15 (Public Disclosure) of the Rules.
