HAY FEVER POLICY (Glucocorticosteroid Injections)

Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) Committee Policy on Glucocorticosteroid Injections for Hay Fever

Depo-Medrone (Methylprednisolone) and Kenalog* (Triamcinolone) administered by intra-muscular injection as treatment for hay fever are prohibited in sport and therefore their use requires the athlete and their physician to strictly adhere to the TUE Policy.

INTERPOL and WADA warn of potentially deadly diet drug

The international policing organisation INTERPOL has issued a global alert, or Orange Notice, about 2, 4-dinitrophenal (DNP) after a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited laboratory received a sample of the drug following a seizure in Australia.

Xenon and Argon gases to be added to the 2014 WADA Prohibited List

Sport Ireland would like to alert the Irish sport community that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has made amendments to Section S.2.1 of the 2014 Prohibited List.

Effective September 1, 2014, hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) activators xenon and argon will be prohibited in and out of competition. For more information on the amendment, please download the following document:

Advisory Note: Illegal Stimulant Methlyhexanamine
August (2012)
The Irish Sports Council today issued an advisory notice to athletes on the use of supplements following the recent case of an Irish Soccer player who has been sanctioned for the presence of methylhexanamine after taking the supplement Jack3D and also a case in Rugby in autumn 2011. Of particular concern to the ISC is the anecdotal evidence of widespread use in team sports in Ireland.
