5000 Attend Fun Run Supported by the Irish Sports Council

Over 5,000 participants took part in this year's Operation Transformation 5k Fun Run in association with the Irish Sports Council, Athletics Ireland and Dublin City Council.


The Operation Transformation leaders were joined by Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Frances Fitzgerald, Lord Mayor of Dublin, Andrew Montague and CEO of the Irish Sports Council, John Treacy.


The event, supported by the Irish Sports Council, was held in the Phoenix Park and attracted walkers, joggers and runners of all ages and from across the country. Highlights of today's event will be broadcast on RTE 1's Operation Transformation programme at 8pm on Wednesday 22 February.
